Constructivist Curriculum

  • TODDLER-TWOS

    TODDLER-TWOS

    18–32 Months
    We Potty Train!

Our Toddler program encourages children to use their bodies, senses, and emerging problem-solving skills to learn about and make sense of their world in ways that are most meaningful for them. They learn self-help skills and independence. The children actively engage in play, gaining experience with sharing and team work. We balance individual attention with group experiences and ensure that your toddler is using all that energy in productive ways.

Our curriculum is based on the philosophy that young children learn best through hands-on experiences. Each day is filled with fun activities that excite and develop toddlers, giving them the comfort and confidence to speak those first few important words as well as make their first friends.

  • EARLY PRESCHOOL

    EARLY PRESCHOOL

    32-36 months

As two-year-olds learn best by doing, they have innumerable opportunities to explore, try new things, and grow. Children are encouraged to interact and role-play in both a dramatic play area and outside; construct structures with blocks; build with a variety of manipulative materials; use art materials such as paints; investigate science through exploration; and begin to appreciate literature through listening to stories. These, as well as many other play-based activities, promote positive social, emotional, and academic growth. Our balanced approach in the classroom engages young minds with a blend of music, art, and movement, as well as the early education fundamentals they will need as they continue in their schooling.

  • PRESCHOOL

    PRESCHOOL

    3 years (by Sept 1)

Our Preschool program fosters a sense of wonder and excitement for learning and provides a hands-on, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate program for young children. We strive not simply to shape young minds but to inspire them. We aim to spark fascination that lasts into kindergarten and long beyond.

From learning how to master materials to learning how to share and be part of a group, our three- year-old students establish and enhance a well-rounded foundation for future learning and development.

  • PRE-KINDERGARTEN

    PRE-KINDERGARTEN

    4 Years (by Sept 1)

Our Pre-Kindergarten program includes hands-on projects and active play. Academically, we emphasize literacy and math as well as dedicating blocks of time to skill mastery. We spark our students’ interests by tailoring the curriculum and giving children leadership opportunities to explore, investigate, hypothesize, create, and discover. This gives them ownership of their learning as well as critical practice in problem-solving, communicating, and collaborating. Listening, speaking, reading, and writing are all areas of focus in building literacy skills. Using Zoo-phonics, children learn to make meaningful connections between reading and writing.

Our students learn to respect one another. They gain confidence and learn to participate in classroom activities. They become part of a community—an active, helpful part. They are encouraged to think independently while working cooperatively.

  • JUNIOR KINDERGARTEN

    4.6 Years (by Sept 1)

Junior kindergarten gives students an extra year to learn key skills before Elementary. This bonus year builds on previous early education experiences to get kids ready for elementary school.

Our Junior-K lessons remain playful and hands-on, using games, songs, stories, and movement. They engage students while reinforcing learning across disciplines. Small class sizes and low student-teacher ratios enable personalized attention. We support each child’s diverse needs. The curriculum establishes both essential competencies and character development. It will benefit students throughout their education.

  • PRIVATE KINDERGARTEN

    5 Years (by Sept 1)

Our Private Kindergarten program focuses on preparing students for first grade. Our Private Kindergarteners enjoy smaller class sizes/ratios, more enrichment, social social-emotional learning in an inquiry-driven project curricular program.

    Curriculum

Private kindergartens use research-based, nationally recognized curricula.

The curriculum includes language arts, math, social studies, science, and social-emotional skills.

Students learn to read, writing skills, basic math, science, social studies, and how to work independently.

Learning through hands-on discovery and concrete experiences. While participating in projects that foster cooperation and teamwork.

Let's Learn, Laugh, and Play.

We've really enjoyed having our child attend IUCC. The staff are caring and welcoming. The teachers kind and capable. The tuition is reasonable and the classrooms and facilities are clean and organized. Above all, our child is happy there

IUCC preschool is a fantastic school that exceeded my expectations. My son bonded with the teachers well, who went above and beyond to make him feel supported in his new environment. I cannot say enough how wonderful they are. They are incredibly kind, patient, and attentive to each child. It was clear that they cared about his well being. I have peace of mind while I am at work.

This school is a great hidden gem in Irvine. The staff are friendly and the Erma creates a good culture here for parents to know the teachers as well as parents knowing other parents. I especially liked the different activities and programs they ran for the whole families.

My daughter was 3 years old and was going to speech therapy twice a week and nothing seems to helping her. After two weeks part time in this school. She start saying sentence we were shocked. Amazing place with great teachers and perfect program for my little one! It was one of best decision I made it for my daughter.

Our constructivist philosophy encourages children to take charge of their learning and build knowledge through active engagement with inquiry and project-based learning opportunities.
